Specifically, these services include the design and
implementation of structured settlements as well as the creation
of special needs trusts. These
vehicles are intended as means by which to resolve third party
personal injury litigation. A
structured settlement funded with an annuity or by a custodial
bond trust will provide the plaintiff with tax-free income.
A special trust creates a means by which a disabled minor
or incompetent adult can remain eligible for certain entitlement
benefits following a settlement award. The benefit to the defendant is that under both scenarios a
full and final release is achieved.
